Relating to a limitation on life insurance proceeds for terroristic acts.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 2104 would allow life insurance policy providers to stipulate that proceeds of a life insurance policy are limited to the amount paid in premiums if the insured's death occurs within two years of the effective date of the policy and is a result of the insured's involvement in certain violent offenses committed with intent to place the public in fear of serious bodily injury, influence the conduct or activities of state, federal, or local governments, or significantly interfere with lawful commerce or the right of assembly.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2104 as it neither advances nor hinders our liberty principles. This bill is permissive in nature and does not constitute a new insurance coverage mandate.
