Relating to the provision and reimbursement of home tele-monitoring services under Medicaid.
According to the Legislative Budget Board, there would be a negative impact of ($15,007,013) through the biennium ending August 31, 2021.
HB 2062 would repeal the sunset date for the statutory provision that allows HHSC to reimburse providers under Medicaid for the provision of home tele-monitoring services.
Although this bill would expand the scope of Medicaid, we remain neutral on HB 2062 because we support the use of technologies such as tele-monitoring services that increase efficiency and access to health care. These technologies also help reduce the cost of care over time.
