HB 2042 would make changes to the procedure concerning audits conducted by the Comptroller on state agencies. The bill would clarify in statute the resources available to the Comptroller when conducting a post-payment audit and would clarify that the Comptroller may not access information not to be released under federal law without approval from the appropriate federal agency. In addition, the bill would make various changes to the audit procedure.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 2042 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
