Relating to the investigation of fire fighters employed by certain municipalities and districts.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1895 would prohibit municipalities from taking punitive action against a fire fighter unless an investigation has been conducted in accordance with certain statutory requirements. This would not apply to the investigation of a fire fighter who has been convicted of family violence at a level punishable by felony or Class A or Class B misdemeanor.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1895 because it is an administrative or procedural bill which has no apparent connection to our liberty principles.
