of disease control programs to reduce the risk of certain infectious and communicable
diseases; authorizing fees
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1722 would allow counties and municipalities to establish needle exchange programs to reduce the risk of communicable diseases (HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc.) in counties where a public health emergency has been declared by the county commissioner and approved by the Texas Department of Health & Human Services.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1722 because it does not affect our liberty principles.
