No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 1140 would require the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation to automatically adjust fees for a vehicle storage facility or governmental vehicle storage facility at the rate of inflation calculated by the Consumer Price Index.
Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1140 as it has no impact upon our liberty principles. If the statutory fee for impounded vehicles is in need of change, this seems a reasonable way to go about it.
