Bill Caption

Relating to school district discretion to administer college preparation assessment instruments to public school students at state cost.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Currently, school districts are mandated to administer preliminary college preparation courses in the eighth and tenth grades. This bill would change that so administering the preparation course assessments would be voluntary.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill would allow school districts more control over college preparation courses, limiting state control over education. For this reason, we support this bill.
