Relating to the submission of an affordability and access report by public institutions of higher education
Bill Analysis
Under current law, institutions of higher education must submit a report to their governing board concerning cost and access to the institution. This bill would require the report to also be sent to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and in turn, the board would send the report to the governor and the legislature.
Vote Recommendation Notes
By adding the THECB, legislature, and the governor to the list of recipients of a report that is already required to be produced, SB 249 neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
