Bill Caption

Relating to a recipient's disenrollment from a Medicaid managed care plan.

Fiscal Notes

From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This bill would remove the provision allowing a recipient to disenroll from a Medicaid managed care plan and enroll in a different plan once for any reason after the 91st day after the date the person enrolls in the plan or after the first 12 months after the person initially enrolls in the plan; meaning that under the statute a person would be able to disenroll from a Medicaid managed care plan and enroll in a different plan at any time for cause under federal law.

Vote Recommendation Notes

It is within the authority of the state to decide how it wishes to run state manage care plans. As such, we view this as a procedural bill and remain neutral.
