Bill Caption

Relating to the dissolution of the Chisholm Trail Special Utility District.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1067 would create procedures for the dissolution of the Chisholm Trail Special Utility District. Along with these procedures, the city will assume: control of the operations and management of the affairs; all rights, duties, and obligations; all files, records, and accounts; and all permits, approvals, and licenses of the district.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports this bill. SB 1067 upholds our principle of limited government by dissolving special districts that are no longer considered to be essential to its area. This is a step in the right direction for reducing costs for the state and ultimately taxpayers, and making local governments more efficient.
