Bill Caption

Relating to certain examination and continuing education requirements for applicants for and holders of liquefied petroleum gas licenses.

Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Under current law, applicants for and holders of liquefied petroleum gas licenses are required to fulfill continuing education requirements through examinations for technical competence and attendance at approved seminars, programs, and reexaminations. HB 3726 would no longer require the Railroad Commission to enforce such rules and instead permit the commission to enforce such rules voluntarily. This bill would also eliminate reexamination from the permitted attendance requirements.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill supports the principle of limited government by reducing the requirements to acquire and maintain a license for liquefied petroleum gas. For this reason, we support HB 3726.
