Bill Analysis

HB 3172 would amend the Government Code to require the Department of Information Resources to establish an electronic government project to develop a website to provide a tool for a business entity to determine whether the entity may be eligible for any state monetary or tax incentives in this state and allows the entity to fill out one application for all incentives.

Vote Recommendation Notes

While we oppose the state use of funds to provide incentives for select businesses, the administration of the application process neither uplifts or offends our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
