Relating to the composition of the board of trustees of the Employees Retirement System of Texas.

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

Current law requires that, among other things, the three elected members of the Employees Retirement System of Texas be members of the retirement system. HB 265 would maintain the current statutory requirements for two of the members but allow the third to simply be a retiree without being a member of retirement system or meet the other criteria.
