Bill Analysis

This bill would require that a community rehabilitation program pay people with disabilities at least the federal minimum wage for work relating to any products or services purchased from the community rehabilitation program and stipulates that the program ensure that this increase in wages not affect the worker's eligibility to receive any federal benefits they received before the wage increase. The bill would also allow the workforce commission to assist a person with disabilities in securing employment if they are not retained by a community rehabilitation program.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation has no bearing on our liberty principles because it changes a requirement relative to a public program that is already in existence, does not affect private business, and will have no significant fiscal impact. For these reasons we remain neutral.
