Bill Caption

Relating to an election services contract between a county elections administrator and a political party.

Fiscal Notes

From the LBB: No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

This bill would require a county election officer on the request of the county chair of a political party holding a primary election in the county to contract with the county executive committee of the political party to perform election services in accordance with a cost schedule agreed to by the contracting parties. The bill would also require the county election officer to contract with the opposite political party if they contract with one party.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill makes a procedural change to the way primary elections are run, which is well within the state's power to regulate. For this reason, we remain neutral on this bill.
