Bill Analysis

This bill would modify the local government code to expedite proceedings for certain civil actions. If this bill passes, any proceeding, including appeals, related to a suit brought for the enforcement of an ordinance relating to dangerously damaged or deteriorated structures would be expedited. These suits would be governed under the procedures for accelerated appeals in civil cases under the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure and the court would be required to render its final order or judgement with the least possible delay.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation is procedural in nature with no apparent connection to our liberty principles, therefore we remain neutral.
