Bill Analysis

This bill makes updates to a current veterans preference law which allows an eligible person serving on active duty to pay delinquent property taxes without any penalty under certain circumstances. Eligibility would be slightly broadened and a provision would be added to stipulate that interest would accrue at a rate of 6%.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation expands an existing preference while also requiring that interest accrue. We remain neutral on this bill.
