Bill Analysis

HB 1073 would amend the Insurance Code to add that the Department of Insurance may now issue a provisional permit for a life agent upon receipt of an application, fee, and certificate signed by the appointing agent, insurer, or health maintenance organization.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This bill enhances our free market and limited government principles by decreasing regulation on life insurance agent licenses with the issuing of provisional permits, making it easier for an individual to earn a living. We support HB 1073.
