Bill Analysis

SB 715 would allow a sworn statement by telephone or any means of electronic communication to be used by the magistrate to decide whether a search warrant should be issued.

Vote Recommendation Notes

SB 715 would increase the efficiency of obtaining information needed to obtain a search warrant. An increase of efficiency is within the purview of our limited government principle. We support this bill for preserving limited government.
