Bill Analysis

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) to provide a one-page informational paper about veterans services provided by the state to a veteran who receives a driver's license or personal identification certificate with a veteran's endorsement.

Vote Recommendation Notes

This legislation provides information to veterans with a drivers license endorsement signifying they are a veteran. We remain neutral on this legislation as it neither affirms nor abridges our liberty principles.

However, as long as legislators are considering this bill they may wish to amend it to require the informational handout include employment opportunities and resources addition to the list of services that would also be provided.
