Relating
to a study of the feasibility of establishing a visitors center at Hueco Tanks
State Park in El Paso County.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 988 would require the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
(TPWD) to conduct a feasibility study on establishing a visitors center at
Hueco Tanks State Park in El Paso County. Additionally, TPWD would have to
collaborate with the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo in planning for the visitors center.
We stand neutral on HB 988 because TPWD would be able to
conduct this study within existing resources. Moreover, this legislation does
not affect our liberty principles.
