No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 923 amends the Transportation Code to require the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue "36th Infantry Division" license plates for those who have served in the 36th Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard. A notation and emblem of the division would appear on the plate. The bill requires TxDMV, on request, to issue a souvenir version of the specialty license plate.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill is substantively the same as when we
reported on it in its original chamber. We continue to remain neutral.
We do not normally take a stand on specialty license plates, and remain neutral on HB 923.
