No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

The bill would amend Chapter 241 of the Health and Safety Code by requiring hospitals to release the remains of an unintended, intrauterine fetal death, upon request to a parent of the unborn child, that is in compliance with the law and the hospital's practice.

Vote Recommendation Notes

We support HB 635 because it strengthens the ability of a parent to exercise their parental rights.
