Bill Analysis
HB 3408 seeks to require a municipality that maintains an
Internet website to post the municipality's comprehensive annual financial report on the website
as soon as the report is available and maintain the posting at all times until the third anniversary of
the report.
This bill would take effect January 1, 2016.
Vote Recommendation Notes
HB 3408 would provide some much needed financial transparency at the municipal level. The provisions of this bill would not be a burden on the municipality in any way and would allow citizens of the municipality to see how and where their money is spent. We support this legislation.
