Bill Analysis
This legislation would amend the Education and Election Codes to change and clarify certain deadlines
for certain processes and procedures involving an election.
Specifically:
- A write-in candidate may not withdraw from the election
after the 71st day before election day.
- A
write-in candidate may not withdraw from an election after 5 p.m. of
the fifth day after the deadline for filing a declaration of
write-in candidacy.
