Bill Caption
Relating to reducing paperwork and duplicate reports required of a school district.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication anticipated.
Bill Analysis
HB 1706 would amend Education Code to require the Commissioner of Education to eliminate any
reports and paperwork required by state law that duplicate reports and
paperwork required by federal law. The bill also requires a
superintendent to ensure a copy of a report required by federal law is
delivered to the Education Agency.
Vote Recommendation Notes
This bill affirms the principle of limited government by increasing efficiency and eliminating procedures that most likely waste time and resources. For this reason, we support HB 1706.
