Summary: This legislation would require school districts and local governments to give preference to Texas agricultural goods if the quality and costs are equal to the same products grown outside of the state, and may give preference to products that do not exceed 107 percent of the cost of agricultural products grown outside of the state.
Analysis: This bill requires a local government and a school district to give preference to Texas agricultural products if cost and quality is equal, and allows but does not require them give Texas products preference in the event the cost difference is plus 7%. We are neutral on this legislation.
