Summary: This legislation requires the Texas Veterans commission, no later than May 1 of every even numbered year to conduct a needs assessment, determine grant categories which correspond to high priority needs, and identify gaps between needs. The Texas Veterans Commission shall then submit a full report pursuant to their findings.
Analysis: This bill would assist in the dissemination of services to possibly underserved veterans communities. This needs assessment may be beneficial in identifying the underserved and possibly saving money by identifying services that are underused or no longer needed. This legislation neither uplifts nor offends our liberty principles, therefore we are neutral.
