Summary of Legislation: This legislation adds "not present at the adjournment of a meeting at which a quorum is established" to the definition of absence, concerning members of governing bodies.
Analysis: This creates more accountability and transparency in local government. This prevents abuse of quorum rules by preventing government officials from being present for quorum call but not staying until adjournment. We recommend legislators support HB 2259.
