Bill Analysis

Summary: The current Occupations Code regulates electric work that individuals would need a license to perform. There is also a list of work that is exempt from the need for a license. HB 1352 would add “a person who sells or offers to sell a sign that requires electrical work” to that list. The seller that this would apply to may not perform the electrical work on the sign.

Analysis: HB 1352 would act to lighten the regulations on this industry and allow more participation by the public without having to go through the licensing process. HB 1352 limits government.
