Relating to approval for certain projects related to bridges over the Rio Grande.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Current law requires certain federal (Presidential) and state approvals in order to construct an international bridge over the Rio Grande. SB 2243 is a narrowly written bill to allow an exemption of state approval processes for a political subdivision to undertake a bridge project if the project has already received presidential approval and is adjacent to an existing bridge that has previously been approved by the United States and the State of Texas.
Texas Action is neutral on SB 2243.
