Fiscal Notes

Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for SB1907, As Engrossed: a negative impact of ($350,000) through the biennium ending August 31, 2023. The Texas A&M Transportation Institute is required to implement the provisions of the bill only if the legislature appropriates money specifically for that purpose. If the legislature does not appropriate money specifically for that purpose, the agency may, but is not required to, implement the provisions of the bill using other appropriations available for that purpose.

The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.

Bill Analysis

SB 1907 would require the Texas A&M Transportation Institute, in consultation with the Texas Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Public Safety, to conduct a feasibility study on colocated federal and state motor vehicle inspection facilities at ports of entry in Texas.
