Relating to the content of certain immunization records and of certain biennial legislative reports on immunizations issued by the Department of State Health Services.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 1353 would require the biennial legislative immunization report to include additional information if, within the prior two years, a disaster had been declared under the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Act. The additional information would be accessibility to immunization by county with non-identifiable demographics information such as age, race, and geographic information. The report would have to identify and assess disparities in access to immunization, the estimated economic benefit to this state of reducing disparities, include recommendations for reducing disparities, and include recommendations for legislative action.
SB 1353 would require an immunization record provided by a healthcare provider to contain the race, age, ethnicity, and county of residence of the individual immunized.
SB 1353 would make changes to the required information to be included in the report on immunizations sent to the legislature following a declared disaster. As no liberty principles are directly impacted by this, Texas Action remains neutral on SB 1353.
