Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 8 would require law enforcement agencies to create an electronic copy of an applicant's employment records for another law enforcement agency seeking to hire the individual. The bill would require the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement to determine the manner in which a law enforcement agency shall make a person's employment records electronically available to a hiring law enforcement agency.

Texas Action is neutral on HB 8 which updates administrative procedures and does not appear to affect our liberty principles.
