Relating to the authority of an emergency services district to provide preventive health care services; authorizing a fee.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 639 would allow qualifying emergency service districts, contingent on approval of a commissioners court, to provide preventive health care services to reduce reliance on 9-1-1 transports and systems for routine health care, contract with the state or a local government for the provision of those services, and charge a reasonable fee for performing those services.
Texas Action is neutral toward HB 639 which does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles.
