HB 3985 would increase the offense of giving alcohol to a minor from a Class A misdemeanor to a third-degree felony if, after the offender purchases or gave or made available an alcoholic beverage to them, the minor dies as a result of its consumption.
Texas Action is neutral on HB 3985, which does not impact our liberty principles.
