Fiscal Notes

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

HB 2711 would stipulate that a person does not lose their homestead exemption while temporarily absent from their Texas residence because they are stationed abroad as a foreign service officer in the employment of the United States Department of State.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports HB 2711 which supports individual liberty and property rights for the Texans whose homestead exemption would be protected while temporarily serving overseas as a foreign service officer with the State Department.
