Bill Analysis
HB 2290 would amend Penal Code to revise the standard under which compulsion exists as it relates to the commission of criminal offenses while under duress such that compulsion exists "if the force or threat of force would render a reasonable
person in the situation of the defendant incapable of resisting the pressure." This would allow a defendant to assert duress as an affirmative defense in certain criminal proceedings.
