Relating to the creation of a task force to evaluate the housing
needs of senior citizens who are lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, queer, or questioning.
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
HB 2045 would create a task force to evaluate the housing
needs of senior citizens who are lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, queer, or questioning.
There is no reason for government to engage in this type of activity and there is no particular reason for the legislature to take this bill as anything more serious than political posturing. If one is to take the seriously the premise of the bill that the government should engage in this type of activity, what is the limiting principle? Why not have a task force to evaluate the needs of every conceivable demographic under the sun? Texas Action opposes HB 2045 which violates the principle of limited government.
