Relating to an evaluation by the housing and health services coordination council of the 2-1-1 services provided by the Texas Information and Referral Network.
Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for HB 1225, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted : a NEGATIVE impact of ($700,000) through the biennium ending August 31, 2023.
The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of the bill.
HB 1225 would require the housing and health services coordination council to submit to the department an evaluation of the 2-1-1 services provided by the Texas Information and Referral Network by August 1 of each year. This evaluation must consider data collection, the database of the Texas Information and Referral Network, 2-1-1 user interviews and recommendations, referral outcome statistics, and 2-1-1 Texas leadership interviews and recommendations.
The 2-1-1 program is designed to help Texans connect with the services they need through the health and human services programs.
HB 1225 evaluates the services provided by the 2-1-1 services and referral network. This is a benefit for limited government because evaluation of services and efficiency are needed to ensure that they are providing correct services. Texas Action supports HB 1225.
