Bill Analysis

SB 41 would add an attorney ad litem, a guardian ad litem, an amicus attorney, a mediator providing services without expectation of compensation, or a nonprofit organization that provides pro bono legal services to the indigent, to the list of exemptions from reporting requirements on court appointments. Currently, the clerk of each court has to prepare a report on court appointments for these categories.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on SB 41. It is purely procedural and neither advances nor hinders any of our liberty principles.
