Bill Caption
Relating to the maximum number of semester credit hours allowed for
and funding sources used to supplement a TEXAS grant.
Fiscal Notes
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Bill Analysis
SB
34 would limit eligibility for the TEXAS grant program by reducing the number of
semester credit hours which may be earned under the program from 150 to 135. The bill would also remove work-study programs as a potential matching fund to make up the difference between grant money from the TEXAS grant program and tuition the student is paying. In practical terms this means more students could participate in the grant program without increasing the overall cost of the program
