Relating to abolishing a dissolution committee established to abolish certain county boards of education or boards of county school trustees and appointing commissioners courts to assume the duties of the dissolution committee.
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
SB 2018 would effectively change reforms that were previously made to Dallas County Schools. These reforms resulted in legislation that created dissolution committees to handle Dallas County Schools' remaining assets and duties. This bill would remove the dissolution committee and transfer all power and taxing authority to the Dallas County Commissioners Court.
Texas Action remains neutral on SB 2018. This is a local issue and does not impact our principles.
