Fiscal Notes

Estimated Two-year Net Impact to General Revenue Related Funds for SB 1769, Committee Report 1st House, Substituted: a negative impact of ($811,310) through the biennium ending August 31, 2021.

Bill Analysis

This bill would prohibit the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission from allocating resources to collect taxes at a port of entry at a cruise ship terminal.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action supports this bill as it promotes the principle of limited government. Collecting taxes at port of entries is an unnecessary infringement on cruise lines that would drive cruise incentives to come to Texas down.
