Bill Caption

Relating to governmental immunity for and adjudication of claims arising from a local governmental entity's disaster recovery contract.

Fiscal Notes

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Bill Analysis

SB 1575 would clarify that municipalities are performing a governmental function by granting disaster recovery funds, including state and local sources, and would grant municipalities governmental immunity in connection to a cause of action arising from a disaster recovery contract.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action is neutral on SB 1575 because it does not affect our liberty principles. That said, this appears to be good public policy.
