Fiscal Notes

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time because of a lack of information regarding future investment returns and potential discretionary transfers based on those returns.

Bill Analysis

HJR 151 would amend the Texas Constitution to raise the cap on the amount of revenue derived from Public School Fund lands or properties during that year which the General Land Office or State Board of Education may distribute to the Available School Fund from $300 million to $600 million.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HJR 151. This is a policy decision for the legislature which does not appear to have a connection to our liberty principles.
