Bill Analysis

HB 4712 would amend current law that relates to Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 7 by altering the powers and duties of the board of the district.

According to the author's statement of intent, the bill would provide a way for the district to undertake a Brazos River erosion control project.

Vote Recommendation Notes

While this bill would modify and expand the authority of an existing special purpose district, due to the limited local nature of this bill and the fact that it addresses a legitimate public purpose, we are neutral on HB 4712.
