Bill Analysis

HB 3384 would allow the Comptroller to conduct a limited-scope review of an appraisal district in place of the typically required comprehensive review if the district is in a declared disaster area or if: (1) a building used by the district to conduct business is destroyed, inaccessible, or damaged to the extent that it is unusable for at least 30 days; (2) the district's records or computer system are destroyed or unusable for at least 30 days; or (3) the district, due to extraordinary circumstances, does not have the resources to undergo a review unless the review is limited in scope.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 3384 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
