Bill Analysis

HB 3365 would include a major disaster declared by the president of the United States or a disaster declared under Section 418.014, Gov. Code to the list of scenarios where individuals can be immune from civil liability for acts or omissions that occur in giving care, assistance, or advice with respect to the management of an incident. The bill also adds charitable organizations, as that term is defined by Section 84.003, that provides services to mitigate the effects of a disaster, to the list of organizations that an individual is immune when providing assistance to affected areas.
