Bill Analysis

HB 1815 would extend the deadline, from April 1 to May 1, for submitting an application to claim an interstate allocation for property tax purposes. Interstate allocation refers to the portion of property tax due to the state of Texas for property that is used in interstate commerce. For example, a trucking company might claim an interstate allocation in Texas to only be taxed by this state for mileage their rolling stock actually covered in Texas.

Vote Recommendation Notes

Texas Action remains neutral on HB 1815 as it does not affect our liberty principles.
